With this blog post we start EcoUniv Weekend Reads, which earlier ran during 2020-2021.

First, an old book in Marathi. Written in 1939 by Mr. Datta Apte, it does a fantastic job in terms of documenting the relationship between natural resources and man's exploitations of the same. It is a tour around biogeographic zones of the world, the extraction of natural resources and exploitation of labour, as seen at that time, with facts and numbers. The author is very humble and mentions upfront that the book is based on reference books like Mans Worldly Goods, and Geography and Capitalism. This is possibly the very first Marathi book on the topic.

Next, a video about an 80-year old man who has been living off the grid for 50 years in the Appalachian mountains in US. He shares profound wisdom.
